BRONZE (lite) – Athletes receive a weekly training plan uploaded to Final Surge but interaction with me is limited to the initial Assessment. To reiterate, athletes are able to upload training data i.e. Garmin and record workout notes to their Final Surge profile but ongoing access via email or phone is excluded. If you feel like you need help organizing your goals and refining your training but are confident managing and executing a training program on your own, Bronze is for you. The Bronze package allows for very limited access to your coach – the training plan is all yours to manage. If you feel like you may require a more hands-on approach, consider the SILVER package.
SILVER (standard) – Silver is by-far the most popular package offered. All of the features of the Bronze package are included in the Silver package with two big exceptions – athletes are offered unlimited access to ask questions and advice about anything (running-related) via email or in-app messaging within Final Surge on an ongoing basis. With Silver, you are free to send as many or as few emails as you like. Silver also includes a pre-race preparation and race-day strategy i.e. a mile by mile approach to your race course as well as post race recovery protocol.
GOLD (premium) – The big advantage to the Gold ‘premium’ package above what is already offered in Bronze and Silver: two 30-minute conference or video calls each month to discuss progress, scheduling and refine training on an ongoing basis. A truly hands on approach!
Long answer: I manage all billing through an online invoice system called FreshBooks. FreshBooks, themselves, has several security, encryption and reliability safeguards in place and if you would like to read more these safeguards you can do so on their site HERE. Freshbooks is securely connected to a payments processor called Stripe which, you may know, is similar to PayPal. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. To accomplish this, Stripe makes use of best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain the highest level of protection.
Short answer: All major credit cards are accepted – including MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. I never receive or store your credit card information at any time.
How does this work? You will receive an automated email on the first calendar day of each month with a link to remit payment. The first month of Private Coaching will be prorated, at which time, the first payment is due on the date coaching services are activated. After the first month of service, payment is due on the 10th calendar day of each month.
I have very little ultra running experience and, therefore, prefer to focus my attention on the distances for which I have extensive training, knowledge and experience – such as the marathon and below. Indeed. While my roster of athletes represents a full range of running talent and experience – fast clients are welcome here! There are currently elite runners on my client roster seeking Olympic Trials qualifying standards in the marathon. In the past I’ve had clients finish in the top of their age group, clients who have won their age group or have won races outright and those who have finished as a top Americans in the NYC Marathon. Fast is fun!

Absolutely! I work with runners at the back, middle and front of the pack and have done so for several years. If you are goal-oriented and committed to your training then I’m here to help, no matter what your pace. Ideally, runners should expect to run 30-35 miles per week in peak mileage weeks when preparing for a marathon.
I simply put your program “on hold” until you return. You are credited for any unused weeks of training and your plan begins anew when you decide to return. Because my coaching roster fills up from time to time, I’ll also save a spot for you for when you return.
Of course! I coach athletes of all abilities and, while many of my runners are not competitive, they still desire coaching guidance. I will provide you with both the knowledge and framework of your program, as well as the encouragement for you to succeed.
I understand the questionnaire is lengthy but the more I know about you at the outset, the better equipped I will be to get you started with your training.Specificity of training is paramount to an improvement in running fitness, therefore, getting to know you as best I can is critical. No two clients are alike and where I feel I can add value is to customize training not only to your current fitness and your ability but also to your schedule and needs as a person. There are four sections to the questionnaire but they each contain valuable information to help me better understand your needs and expectations. Upon submission, I will contact you via email to suggest how we might begin together.
No. While I have competed as a triathlete, myself, and have even paced private clients through triathlon races – I do not consider myself a multi-sport coach. I have served as a coaching assistant for the JackRabbit Sports (NYC) triathlon training program, and I am happy to help multi-sport athletes with their running. However, running (i.e. 5k, 10k, half marathons, marathons) remains my focus. If you require a comprehensive triathlon training program including all three disciplines simultaneously (swimming, biking, running) I would suggest hiring Jonathan Cane of City Coach, a multi-sport specific coach.
Clients may cancel Private Coaching at any time. As a courtesy, a full month notice is preferred in order to resolve any final training needs. In instances where clients request coaching services for the completion of a single race (such as a marathon) the race will generally mark the end of the Private Coaching training program. Pacing clients acknowledge that failure to provide 24 hour advance notification of cancellation forfeits any fees paid for a single session.
No, you may begin or end coaching at any time.
A signed WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION is required by all clients of GB Running, LLC prior to activation of all services and before training may begin. All waivers are mandatory.
